Teachers: Jimi Hendrix
Jimi Hendrix is considered by many to be on of the best guitarists of all time, which I think to be true. While we can see this in many of his songs I think the best example is his amazing cover of All Along the Watchtower, originally by Bob Dylan. Hendrix’s version of the song actually became much more popular than the original, reaching number five on the British charts when the single was released.
The song, featuring Hendrix’s pioneering style has influenced many songs to follow it. Mostly with the amazing guitar solo in the song and his great performance overall. If you have never heard this epic track then you are seriously missing out on part of our musical heritage.
